Types of permits vary depending on the type of work being done. If you have any questions about the the type of permit required for your project, please call (480) 350-8341, Option 1.

Building Permit
Required for most tenant improvements and building construction work, including fences over 6 feet in height and accessory/storage buildings over 200 square feet. A Project Submittal Form and two (2) complete sets of plans are required for Commercial and Industrial submittals. A Project Submittal Form and 2 complete sets of plans are required for Residential submittals. Plan review and Permit Fees vary.

Mechanical Permit
Required to alter, repair or add any mechanical equipment such as vent fans, evap coolers, refrigeration systems, furnaces or incinerators. A Project Submittal Form and 2 sets of plans are required for submittal. Plan review and Permit Fees vary.

Electrical Permit
Required for any electrical wiring work such as new or additional branch circuits, installing or changing out service entrance section, special event generators, or temporary construction power. A Project Submittal Form and 2 sets of plans are required for submittal. Plan review and Permit Fees vary.

Plumbing Permit
Required to alter, repair or add any plumbing such as new or replacement fixtures, water or gas piping, water heaters, sewer, sprinklers or backflow devices. A Project Submittal Form and 2 sets of plans are required for submittal. Plan review and Permit Fees vary.

Zoning or Mobile Home Permit
Required to install new or relocated Mobile Homes. Fee is $50.00 and is issued over the counter. A separate building permit may be required for awnings and carports. A Project Submittal Form and 2 sets of plans are required for submittal.

On-Site Permit
Required for new or relocated Factory Built Buildings (ICBO approved). A Project Submittal Form and 2 sets of plans are required for submittal. Plan review and Permit Fees vary.

AFES or Fire Sprinkler Permit
Will be issued under the Building Permit but must be submitted separately. A Project Submittal Form and 2 sets of plans are required for submittal. Plan review and Permit Fees vary.

Foundation Only Permit
Contact Plan Checker or Plan Check Manager.

Grading Only Permit
Issued at the customer's request only after a Building Permit has been applied for. A Project Submittal form, 2 sets of grading plans, Soil Investigation Report and Permit Fees are required for submittal.

Demolition Permit
Required for the removal of permanent building elements (interior walls, floors, ceiling, doors, windows, etc.) A Project Submittal, 2 sets of plans and a building and Permit Fees are required for submittal as a Tenant Improvement.

Please note: The building permit required for the removal of an entire building can be issued over the counter with a project submittal, a site plan and a building permit fee.
