On April 25, 2024, the Tempe City Council adopted Resolution No. R2024.33, ordering and calling a Special Bond Election to be held in and for the City of Tempe, Arizona, in conjunction with the Statewide General Election on Tues., Nov. 5, 2024, to seek voter authorization to issue and sell general obligation bonds payable from Secondary (Ad Valorem) Property Taxes for the purposes of enhancing community safety through public safety and roadway improvements; improving quality of life in Tempe neighborhoods; and increasing the supply of affordable housing in Tempe, in the principal amount not to exceed $581,500,000.
At the November 21, 2024 Regular Council Meeting, City Council adopted:
- Resolution No. R2024.153, declaring the canvass of results for the November 5, 2024, City of Tempe Special Bond Election.
- Resolution No. R2024.154, declaring the result of the November 5, 2024, City of Tempe Special Bond Election, adopting a certificate of the result, and ordering the recording of the certificate of the result.
Three bond questions

Early Ballots Mailed Oct. 9
If you are on the Active Early Voting List or have made a one-time ballot request, you will be mailed a ballot beginning Wed., Oct. 9. The last day to request an early ballot is Fri., Oct. 25.

Maricopa County voters may return their early ballot by mail or drop it off at any Vote Center or secure ballot drop box. Find locations and hours at Locations.Maricopa.Vote.
Early Voting is Underway
Maricopa County offers a “vote anywhere” election system to provide voters with increased access and reliability. Voters can vote at any location and choose one that is convenient for them. Visit Locations.Maricopa.Vote to find Vote Centers and Ballot Drop Boxes, including their hours of operation and wait times.
Tempe City Hall Drop Box Only (No In-Person Voting)
A Ballot Drop Box is located inside the lobby of Tempe City Hall, 31 East Fifth Street, Tempe, AZ 85281. Hours of operation:
- Wed., Oct. 9 – Mon., Nov. 4: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mon., Oct. 14, for Indigenous Peoples’ Day
- Tues., Nov. 5 Election Day: 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM
