Construction on Svob Park improvements will begin the week of Dec. 2 and last approximately 3 - 4 months.
Svob Park improvements:
- (2) 20x20 ramadas, one ramada will be located northeast of the basketball court, and one northeast of the playground
- New sidewalk paths to the ramadas
- New picnic tables, grills and electrical pedestals at the ramadas
- New lighting at the ramadas and upgraded fixtures throughout the park.
Park Construction impacts:
The fenced off construction areas are located in grass adjacent to the basketball court and the playground. The basketball court and playground should not be impacted and should remain open during construction. Some sidewalk areas may be closed for short durations.
The improvements are funded out of the city’s Capital Improvement Program budget, as part of the Parks Improvement Plan, which is reinvesting more than $60 million into Tempe parks over the next five years . Additional modifications or enhancements to other park amenities are not included in the budgeted amount.
