 Police Dispatchers serve as a link between the community and the police officers who serve our them.

There are 3 job classifications within the Communications Bureau:

  • Dispatcher: Using a computer aided dispatch system they manage officers and civilian police staff while monitoring radio traffic. Dispatchers also answer emergency and non emergency calls.

  • Shift Supervisor: Liaison with customers and support personnel, shift scheduling and direct oversight of daily operations.

  • Bureau Manager: Oversees strategic and tactical plans of the dispatch center, acts as a bureau liaison to the police department, fire, and outside entities, manages staffing, and reviews personnel issues.

 

9-1-1 Dispatcher
