The SWAP area, located in the Household Products Collection Center (HPCC), features partially used or new items such as paint, cleaning supplies, lawn/garden supplies and automotive products that can be acquired by Tempe and Guadalupe residents for free. Making these items available eliminates the need for disposal and keeps them out of the landfill and groundwater.

The SWAP area is for residential use only. Items taken are not to be used in projects that result in financial profit or gain of any kind. The quantity and type of items available vary greatly, and quantity limits exist. All items are first-come, first-serve. Customers are limited to 10 items or 30 gallons of paint. Residents must complete an indemnification form each visit before taking the items.
